Heartsaver® courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for a job, regulatory (for example, OSHA, Department of Education, or EMSA), or other requirements. These courses empower students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, at home, or in the community.

Audience: For persons or companies needing to fulfill regulatory requirements or individuals who want to be prepared to respond to an emergency in any setting.

These courses are offered in two different formats. Both options teach the same skills and will result in the same course completion card. Please make sure you are registering for the right class.

• Blended Learning -This is a blended course consisting of both an online portion and an in-person skills session. If you have not already signed up for the Heartsaver® online portion of the course, please DO NOT register for the skills session; instead, follow this link for the Heartsaver® CPR AED Online or Heartsaver® First Aid to sign up. After completing the online portion, then you may register here for your skills session using the promo code you received along with your online keycode. 

• Classroom Learning- Hands-on format that reinforces skills proficiency. This is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. This course uses AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.

Course Card: Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Heartsaver® CPR AED Course completion card, or Heartsaver® First Aid completion card, valid for two years.

Student Materials: Students must bring a printed copy of their course completion certificate to class to be eligible for a skills-only session.
